Frequently asked questions

Cannabidiol (CBD) is an active compound found in the Cannabis plant. Studies on CBD have shown that it can be helpful in treating insomnia, sore muscles, chronic pain, anxiety and more. CBD can be absorbed into the body in many ways which is why it is available in many products such as tinctures, edibles and even skincare products.

CBD shares many wellness properties with Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), but without the psychoactive or “high” effects. These compounds work naturally with the body’s endocannabinoid system to create homeostasis within the body.

CBD is legal in all 50 states. Delta 8 is legal at the federal level, but not yet legal in all 50 states. As of 2022, Delta 8 is regulated, restricted or banned in 20 states. Please check the status of Delta 8 in your state before placing an order.

Yes, while Drop Shots does ship our hemp-derived CBD products to all 50 states, some products containing THC are prohibited in certain states or require a THC content much lower than federal regulations. All of our CBD products meet the federal requirements of containing no more than 0.3 percent THC.

If you are purchasing a CBD product that is prohibited based on your shipping location, you will receive a disclaimer at checkout and will not be able to complete your order until the indicated product is removed from your cart.

Dosage - For all new CBD users, we recommend starting low and slow with your dosage and working your way up to an amount you’re comfortable with until you reach your desired effect. Customers with a high metabolism or low body mass index should start with products containing 300mg or less or start by taking half of one serving (half of the preportioned vial).

Frequency - How often you take CBD will depend on the wellness benefits you are looking to get out of consuming cannabinoids. For mental wellness and chronic pain management, we recommend daily consumption for best results. If you need supplemental aids to simply take the edge off or get more rest, occasional consumption may be best for you.

Though there can be trace amounts of Delta 9 THC in Cannabidiol (CBD) products, the use of CBD shouldn't show up on a drug test. Because most drug tests can’t distinguish Delta 8 from Delta 9 THC, a drug test may show positive for marijuana after using Delta 8. Both CBD and Delta 8 products are legal, but this does not mean that your employer’s policies have adapted accordingly. If drug testing is a concern, please check your contract before using Delta 8 products.

Water-soluble CBD oils have a faster absorption rate into the bloodstream than traditional CBD oils due to higher concentrations of nutrients and components that can actually be absorbed by the body. The average onset of traditional CBD oils is about 30-90 minutes and lasts for about 6 hours compared to water-soluble formulas that have an onset of about 5-10 minutes and a 7-hour duration.*

In some doses, Delta 8 products can produce a euphoric effect. This effect is not the same as the high associated with marijuana—it’s a vibe though.

CBD products have gained popularity in recent years. Because of this, the market has been flooded with products that do not meet industry standards on purity and potency. When looking for CBD products, ensure that the products are tested by a third party and has a Certificate of Analysis readily available. This document verifies that the products’ active ingredients match the claims of the manufacturer. In addition to the COA, look for transparency and educational resources associated with the brand.

Cannabinoids react to the endocannabinoid system, a regulatory system in our bodies that indirectly controls certain processes and contains receptors for the active components of cannabis. When these receptors interact with CBD products, they can indirectly stimulate or dull certain functions and responses depending on the effects associated with each strain.

Drop Shots’ oil-based formula can take anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes depending on one’s metabolism while the fast-acting water-soluble formula can take effect in as little as 10 minutes. As these products can affect everyone differently, it is important to be patient and not take more before the estimated time is up.

In regards to the PharmaXtracts gummies available in our store, it may take slightly longer to feel the desired effects. For most users, edible products don’t start to digest until after an hour, and the effects of the active compounds may not be felt until after 2 hours.
